Beyond the Script
Growing up in Northern Italy, the stage was always my safe space, a place to express myself freely and without judgment. While people are often surprised by my fair complexion and German heritage, I am deeply rooted in my Italian culture.
When I’m not on set, I ground myself in the kitchen. I grew up watching my grandmothers turn flour, yeast, and eggs into the pasta and crostate I loved most; today, I find a similar soothing effect in that rhythmic process. It is a world of doing rather than thinking, allowing me to reconnect with something sensory and real.
My eye for detail extends to a lifelong fascination with visual and performative storytelling. Rather than being behind the lens, I am a dedicated spectator and curator, preserving a family archive of photographs dating back to the 1900 Universal Expo in Paris.
This love of the "captured moment" draws me to contemporary galleries. I am particularly moved by the raw, boundary-pushing energy of artists like Marina Abramović, whose work informs my own approach to physical theatre and my commitment to telling underrepresented, queer stories. To me, art in all its forms remains the most vital tool we have for empathy and change.
